The Role
The Financial Analyst – Data Analyst will play a key role in understanding trueports port cost spending patterns, build financial models, analyse market trends and identify opportunities for competitive advantage and maximising revenues/savings for trueport and trueports customers.
The role focuses on delivering accurate financial insights in relation to the port cost marketplace, developing analytical tools, and helping drive business decisions through data-driven analysis. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial expertise with data analytics capabilities, ideally developed within a Big 4 or similar professional services environment.
What You’ll Do
Financial Planning & Analysis

Prepare financial analyses, including trueport revenue, cost, and profitability assessments to support business performance evaluation.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities to assist strategic planning

Perform detailed variance analysis between actual and forecast/budget, identifying key drivers and risks

Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis and business decision-making
Data Analysis & Business Insights

Collect, clean, and analyse financial and operational data from trueport to ensure accuracy and consistency

Review port cost spending trends and identify trends, patterns, and performance drivers, translating data into actionable business insights

Support trueport and trueport’s customers with ad hoc analysis to evaluate performance and efficiency improvements

Contribute to improving trueport’s data quality, structure, and governance across the organisation
Reporting & Dashboards

Prepare regular management reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards for trueport and trueport’s customers

Design and maintain dashboards and visualisations using BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)

Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting outputs

Present analysis and findings clearly to support decision-making that differentiates trueport
Systems & Process Improvement

Support the enhancement of financial reporting systems and analytical tools

Drive automation of data processes and reporting workflows to improve efficiency

Ensure consistency and integration of data across the trueport platform
Business & Strategic Support

Provide port cost analytical expertise for strategic initiatives, investments, and operational decisions

Collaborate with trueport customers, preferred agents and the trueport team to align data analysis with business objectives

Support the development of performance metrics and KPIs aligned with business strategy
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
-
2–4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, data analytics, or advisory roles
-
Professional qualification (ACCA / ACA) completed or in progress is essential; CFA progression will be considered an advantage
-
Previous experience within a Big 4 firm) or a recognised professional services firm is strongly preferred
-
Strong understanding of financial modelling, performance analysis, and reporting frameworks

Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is highly desirable
-
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate complex financial and data insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders

High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
