As a Crewing Assistant, you will support the day-to-day crewing administration by helping ensure seafarers meet certification requirements, keeping accurate records, and coordinating training and travel documentation in line with company procedures and client instructions.
Key responsibilities
- Crew certification: Ensure seafarers comply with STCW and flag state requirements for the vessel they are joining, in accordance with the Company’s procedures. Handle necessary applications and formalities with flag and national authorities.
- Training coordination: Arrange training for crew as per client’s instructions, in liaison with the Risk and Safety Manager and Technical Manager of the clients.
- Employment contracts: Ensure employment contracts are established with the seafarers as per company instructions and forward them for signing as authorized by the client in the respective PoA.
- Crew records: Maintain crew records in the crewing software and hardcopy files.
- Feedback and training records: Keep records of appraisal and debriefing reports, and bring identified training needs or other important findings to the attention of the Crewing Manager.
- Travel documents: Process travel documents and visas as required.
- Additional tasks: Support other special tasks and projects as assigned by the Crewing Manager.
