About the Role

Trinity Private School is an international IB school in Limassol, Cyprus, committed to high academic standards and innovative education.

We are currently seeking an experienced and inspiring Subject Lead English (IB MYP/DP) to join our Secondary School team. This is a key leadership role combining high-quality teaching with curriculum development and subject leadership across the English department.

The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of the English programme within the IB framework, ensuring consistency, academic rigor, and alignment of curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy across MYP and DP.

The role may include teaching English Language Acquisition and/or English Language & Literature, depending on the candidate’s background and experience.

There is also an opportunity to contribute to Drama within the timetable, which would be considered a strong advantage.

We are looking for an educator with strong IB experience who is confident in leading teams, mentoring teachers, and fostering inquiry-based, student-centred learning.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with IB philosophy

• Teach English Language Acquisition and/or English Language & Literature within MYP and/or DP

• Foster critical thinking, creativity, communication, and conceptual understanding

• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners

Curriculum & Assessment Leadership

• Lead the development and refinement of MYP/DP English curriculum and unit planners

• Ensure consistency and progression across year levels

• Support the integration and assessment of ATL skills

• Lead moderation and standardisation processes within the English department

• Monitor assessment practices and support high-quality assessment design aligned with IB criteria

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and support teachers within the English department

• Lead collaborative planning and subject meetings

• Promote reflective teaching practices and professional dialogue

• Contribute to interdisciplinary learning and wider school initiatives

Wider School Contribution

• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student learning and development

• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and IB-related initiatives

• Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school

Requirements

• Native or near-native level of English

• Significant experience teaching within IB MYP (DP experience is a strong advantage)

• Previous experience as a Head of Department, Subject Lead, or in a similar academic leadership role (essential)

• Strong understanding of IB curriculum development, assessment, and inquiry-based learning

• Experience teaching English Language Acquisition within the IB framework

• Degree in English, Literature, Education, Languages, or a related field

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an international school

• Experience with ManageBac or similar IB systems is an advantage

• Experience in Drama is considered a strong advantage

• Strong classroom presence, leadership, communication skills, and a reflective teaching approach
