Medicover Genetics is seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated Scientist, to join our dynamic group of experts. Successful candidates will work in the Research & Development Department of the company and will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in our state-of-the-art facility in Nicosia.
This role will report to the Scientific Director, Medicover Genetics and the successful candidate will be based in Cyprus.
Job Summary:
The ideal candidate must uphold to the highest standards and be able to contribute to the company’s mission to develop and provide the safest and most accurate genetic tests.
Key Responsibilities:

Responsible to perform research and development for all phases of product development for screening and diagnostic methods, including assay development, technical and clinical validation

Utilizing knowledge to develop and optimize assay conditions

Assisting in project planning based on project goals, potential risks and timelines as assigned by management

Ensuring high quality, on-time delivery within the stated project goals

Adhering to all departmental protocols and safety procedures
-
Contributing to evaluation and interpretation of results
-
Maintaining accurate and detailed records of results and data
-
Communicating issues and progress to project leader and management
-
Assisting in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other personnel
-
Maintaining and troubleshooting molecular laboratory instruments and equipment
-
Develop Scientific writing skills for articles, grants and IP
Your Profile:
-
PhD degree in Biological Science, Biochemistry or in a closely related field
-
Laboratory experience in the field of molecular biology and in assay design will both be considered an advantage

Experience in NGS sample preparation methodologies and high throughput sequencing is a plus
-
Ability to be proactive, plan and prioritize tasks across multiple projects

Innovative thinker, analytical and problem solver

Technology and detail-oriented

Fluent in English language both written and spoken

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Enthusiastic attitude and good communication skills
