Pafilia Property Developers Ltd is looking to recruit a Procurement Engineer. The successful candidate will be in in charge of the project materials procurement process. Responsible to ensure that the project receives the required best quality services and all construction materials at the lowest total cost of ownership/total cost of engagement in a timely and orderly matter that will assist the project execution team to complete the project without delays relating to material unavailability and to the high specifications standards anticipated by the project design.

Location: Paphos

Responsibilities:
• In coordination with the projects management and planning team prepare and implement the projects material procurement schedule.
• In coordination with the project commercial team prepare and update the project bill of quantities and budget as per new materials prices and specifications updates.
• Identify and evaluate potential material suppliers and compare quality, cost and supplier performance in benefit of the project cost and delivery.
• Prepare and review completeness of material tender documents and issue Invitations for Tender to all potential suppliers.
• Receive process and evaluate material quotations. Prepare the required executive reports for project management decision making in regards to materials, suppliers and delivery options.
• Handle all materials requests as per projects needs and procurement schedule.
• Monitor site deliveries in terms of compatibility of deliveries with PO specs
• Monitor draw-offs from site engineers and foremen
• Record excess materials in a timely manner and assist with returns to suppliers/refunds or their utilization in other projects with the minimal degree of double-handling
• Evaluate alternatives in terms of materials shortages
• Carry out assessment matrices for materials supply from different suppliers and assess alternatives between various options.
• Periodically re-evaluate purchasing procedures and suggest amendments for improvement
• Identify training needs for improvement of professional competence

Necessary requirements:
• University Degree BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering or any other related field
• 3 – 5 years of work experience in a large scale construction project Material Procurement/Purchasing.
• Strong Knowledge and hands on experience of the construction materials procurement and purchasing processes.
• Ability to develop and maintain materials procurement schedules for a large scale complex building project.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, bill of quantities, specifications and supplier contract documents.
• Ability to learn and work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Fluency in both Greek and English languages both written and oral
• Excellent Computer Skills, MS Office, Internet & Outlook Express. Knowledge of a computerise procurement software environment will be considered an advantage.
• Must be analytical and have attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver successfully under pressure
