Role overview
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of the company’s office building and facilities. This role helps ensure that building systems, equipment, and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and efficient.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and coordinate all maintenance activities related to the company’s office building and facilities.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and general building systems.
- Schedule and supervise preventive maintenance to minimize disruptions and equipment failures.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance works with external contractors and service providers.
- Conduct regular inspections of building facilities and identify maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational issues within the premises.
- Maintain records of maintenance schedules, repairs, service reports, and contractor activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations.
- Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts inventory.
- Assist in preparing maintenance budgets and controlling related expenses.
- Supervise cleaning, minor repair works, and general upkeep of the premises.
- Follow up on fire safety systems, alarm systems, generators, and emergency equipment maintenance.
- Ensure that all common areas, offices, meeting rooms, and utility spaces remain in proper condition.
- Support office relocations, installations, and internal facility arrangements when required.
- Liaise with landlords, property managers, and external vendors for building-related matters.
Qualifications and skills
- Diploma or degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Technical Services, or a related field.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or property operations.
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Ability to coordinate multiple service providers and contractors.
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
