Philippou Law Firm is looking for a Junior Accountant to join our expanding team. This is a great opportunity for someone at the early stage of their career to gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing, client-focused law firm with a strong international practice.

Overall purpose of the role

You will support the Accounting Department with day-to-day financial operations. The role includes assisting with bookkeeping, preparing invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting VAT and tax return processes under supervision. This position suits someone who wants to build practical experience in accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
• Support the preparation and submission of VAT and tax returns
• Prepare and issue invoices and help maintain statements of account
• Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
• Help organize financial documents and records
• Support senior accountants with client accounts and reporting tasks
• Follow internal procedures and support compliance with relevant regulations

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently studying)
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations
• Practical experience (internship or entry-level role) is an advantage but not essential
• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
• Fluency in Greek and English is highly desirable
