About the Role
We are looking for a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to welcome and assist guests at Nammos Restaurant. In this role, you will support the guest experience by managing reservations and seating efficiently and ensuring the dining areas are welcoming and well presented.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and confirm the number in their party.
- Seat guests by identifying clean, available tables and assisting with seating.
- Guide guests through the dining rooms and provide any needed assistance.
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings, and organize seating for groups with special needs.
- Ensure place settings are appropriate, including napkins, clean silverware, and other standard items.
- Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, following clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and guest well-being.
- Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to a manager; and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company assets.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the Restaurant Supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent (university degree is a plus).
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Excellent knowledge of English (Russian and Greek are a plus).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous hospitality experience is an advantage.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, support the team in reaching common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to colleagues’ concerns.
- Fast learner with the ability to follow quality expectations and standards.
