Omakoeion Services Ltd is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join and strengthen our team at our Limassol offices
The Technical Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuous reliability, availability, and performance of web applications and their underlying infrastructure. Acting as a critical escalation point from L1 support, the role spans proactive monitoring, incident ownership, automation, and cross-functional collaboration — forming the operational backbone of the engineering organization.
Working in close collaboration with DevOps and engineering teams, the Tech Ops Engineer plays an active part in strengthening operational practices — driving improvements in observability, system stability, and long-term reliability across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the health of web applications and infrastructure, including application servers, databases and integrated tools.
- Handle production incidents escalated from L1 support and contribute to the resolution of medium to high-severity issues.
- Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues using logs, metrics and system diagnostics.
- Maintain, configure and improve monitoring, alerting and observability capabilities in collaboration with DevOps teams.
- Apply and validate configuration changes across:
- Application servers
- Databases
- CRM and enterprise applications
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or significant incidents and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Support automation initiatives and self-healing solutions to reduce manual operational effort.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure and security teams during incident resolution and production changes.
- Support production releases, patches, upgrades and infrastructure changes following change management processes.
- Liaising with external tool vendors during outages or escalations (especially relevant given CRM/enterprise apps are mentioned)
- Proactively flagging resource constraints before they cause incidents
- Participate in on-call rotations and follow established incident response procedures.
- Maintain and update operational documentation.
- Backup systems knowledge (not necessarily designing them).
- Working occasionally outside hours for maintenance.
- Ensure environments are running smoothly, version-controlled and aligned across development (staging), sandbox and production.
- Maintain and support CI/CD pipelines built and designed by the DevOps team, ensuring they operate reliably and flagging issues or improvement needs.
- Improve deployment frequency and reliability through automation and pipeline optimization.
- Operate and monitor cloud infrastructure on AWS as provisioned and architected by the DevOps team, ensuring resources remain healthy, available and aligned with operational requirements.
Skills & Experience
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, or a similar
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience supporting web applications in production environments.
- Working knowledge of servers, databases and application architectures.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and familiarity with modern monitoring stacks (e.g. Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines; basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts sufficient to operate and support DevOps-managed infrastructure.
- Exposure to automation and scripting.
- Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.
