Role overview

As Scientific Research & Collaborations Manager, you will develop and lead scientific collaboration strategies and manage external research partnerships. The role focuses on building strong relationships with academic and research stakeholders, supporting collaborative research activities, and working closely with internal teams to align external innovation with pipeline priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead scientific collaboration strategies, including external research partnerships, investigator-initiated studies, data generation, and academic engagement.
• Lead the development and execution of collaborative research activities, including joint research projects, scientific exchange initiatives, and participation in conferences, workshops, and partnering meetings.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and key opinion leaders to foster scientific collaboration and innovation.
• Establish and execute strategic research collaboration plans; collaborate with internal colleagues to align external partnerships with pipeline priorities, mechanisms of action, and target product profiles.
• Partner with Clinical Operations and Medical Affairs teams to support study design, feasibility, and the integration of external research into company-sponsored programs.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues (e.g., Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, Business Development, and Legal) to develop and implement strategies that advance scientific research and external innovation.
• Conduct literature reviews, scientific assessments, and landscape analyses to identify collaboration opportunities and inform research strategy.

Key qualifications and skills

• Degree in Medicine or Life Sciences; postgraduate qualifications (PhD, PharmD, MD/DO) are preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related medical/scientific functions (considered an advantage).
• Demonstrated experience managing scientific collaborations or research partnerships.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external scientific stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of drug development, including preclinical and clinical research, and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP).
• Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate scientific data and research proposals.
• In-depth knowledge of the scientific research environment, including academia, innovation ecosystems, and collaborative research models.
