CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international company operating in the shipping industry, and with regional offices in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Head of HR & Recruitment to join their growing team based in Limassol. As the Head of HR & Recruitment, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing our client’s HR strategy, people operations, and employee experience. This role provides strategic leadership across talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, learning and development, organisational culture, and HR compliance. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the HR field, of which at least 2+ years are in an HR leadership role within the shipping sector. An excellent remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a generous base salary, 13th salary, medical insurance, and pension scheme. This is a fully onsite position based in Limassol, and standard working hours are from 09:00 – 17:30 from Monday to Friday.
 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Lead, coordinate, and motivate the HR Department.
• Develop, implement, and improve HR policies and procedures in alignment with regulations and company standards.
• Improve the organizational structure that supports the company’s goals and expansion plans.
• Improve the recruitment strategy to attract talent.
• Oversee the hiring process, from job posting to interviewing and onboarding new employees.
• Work with the Operations Team to identify staffing needs.
• Foster a positive work environment by promoting a company culture that aligns with the company’s values.
• Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and ensure fair and compliant HR practices.
• Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with European labour laws and regulations.
• Manage HR-related risks, including contracts, employee documentation, and legal compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for European labour authorities and employment law matters.
• Develop and implement performance management systems.
• Lead initiatives for employee training and development.
• Partner with leadership on succession planning and career development programs.
• Design competitive compensation packages in line with market standards.
• Manage payroll, employee benefits, and incentive programs.
• Ensure transparency and compliance in compensation matters.
• Work closely with the senior management to align HR strategies with the company’s overall business objectives.
• Provide guidance and coaching to the organization on HR matters.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree or HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, etc.) is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR role.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an HR Manager within the shipping sector is essential.
• Strong understanding of European labour laws and employment practices.
• Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong leadership, team coordination, and people motivation abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Proficiency in HR software and systems.
• Fluency in English is required, with any additional language skills considered an advantage.
