Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for establishing and maintaining the organisation’s overall security framework, protecting information assets, and supporting business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Hold ultimate responsibility for the functioning, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the Information Security Department, including oversight of cyber resilience and ICT governance frameworks.

• Act as the primary liaison with supervisory authorities on all information security, cyber resilience, and ICT compliance matters, including DORA, NIS2, PSD2 security requirements, and PCI DSS.

• Develop and oversee the institution-wide information security framework, ensuring alignment with applicable legal, regulatory, and industry standards, as well as internal risk appetite and operational requirements.

• Develop, maintain, and enforce the Company’s information security policies, procedures, standards, and internal controls, excluding areas delegated to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), Data Protection Officer (DPO), and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

• Monitor developments in regulatory requirements, threat landscapes, and technology trends, ensuring that the Company’s security framework is adapted to address new risks and compliance obligations.

• Advise the Management Board on information security risks, emerging threats, and strategic investment needs in ICT and security controls, supporting strategic and operational decision-making from a cyber-risk perspective.

• Coordinate and oversee security-related audits, penetration tests, regulatory inspections, and resilience testing, including follow-up on remediation activities.

• Collaborate with the MLRO in areas where information security controls support AML/CFT requirements, while not being directly responsible for the AML/CFT function.

• Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with ICT-related regulatory requirements, operational resilience standards, and security-related aspects of outsourcing arrangements.

• Collaborate with the DPO to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data processing systems and data stores, recognising that primary responsibility for GDPR compliance lies with the DPO.

• Coordinate with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to integrate information security risk management into the overall enterprise risk management framework.

• Lead the development and execution of security awareness and training programmes, ensuring all staff understand their role in protecting the Company’s systems, data, and customers.
