As part of this ongoing growth, we are constantly seeking to strengthen our teams. Currently, we are recruiting Technical Purchasing Officers to join our Technical Purchasing Department.

Role Overview

As a member of the Technical Purchasing team, you will utilize your business, technical, and educational background to support the daily supply needs of our fleet worldwide. Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, arranging the timely delivery of stores and spares on board vessels, placing and monitoring purchase orders, evaluating supplier performance, and controlling invoices.

Responsibilities

• Arrange the timely and cost-effective delivery of stores and spares
• Coordinate the dispatch of supplies to vessels
• Ensure that goods are delivered on board as scheduled
• Review outstanding orders and enquiry files on a regular basis
• Handle and coordinate special purchasing requirements
• Monitor the performance of the company’s approved suppliers
• Manage monthly accruals
• Provide temporary cover for Purchasing Officer(s) within the same fleet, as required

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Shipping, Maritime Studies or in a similar field
• Previous experience in a similar position will be considered as an advantage
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and purchasing standards
• Excellent command of the English language
• Proficient user of the MS Office suite
