Mobile Android Developer

We’re looking for a skilled Mobile Developer with prior developing experience to create and maintain mobile applications for Android. Your primary focus will be creating a prototype and later on developing an application which can replace the application currently in use.

This application currently is - and your successor then will - be used by one of the leading full-service-providers for a complete inventory service in the German-speaking market. Using a handheld device every member of the team, executing the inventory, will use the application to track his progress and to send the collected data to an online-service.

Job Description

You’ll be developing a new mobile product which will replace the existing application developed for Windows CE. The app you work on will be used daily by a large European workforce enabling them to work smarter and faster. You’ll be working in a team of highly skilled software craftsmen of various disciplines, always on the lookout for the smartest solutions that make the workday of our customers easier.

Activities and Responsibilities

• Drive the initial creation and architecture of a new mobile app
• Implement new features
• Understand business requirements from user stories, perform story refinement and estimation
• Plan the tasks together with the product owner and team
• Plan and perform testing together with QA automation engineers
• Architectural design
• Integrate mobile applications in the continuous integration and continuous release processes
• Do 2nd and 3rd level support and bug fixing

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in Kotlin and/or Java
• Experience in mobile development
• Strong knowledge of the Android ecosystem
• Strong knowledge of Android principles, patterns, and best practices
• Knowledge of Android Material Design
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Experience in troubleshooting issues in production
• Able to build a strong understanding of the scope of the business
• Experience with an Issue/Bug tracker like JIRA
• Experience in agile project management frameworks like Scrum
