CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Group of Companies with diverse business interests, we are seeking to recruit a Shipping Assistant on an initial fixed-term 1 year contract to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Shipping Assistant you will manage a variety of key documents, including advanced shipping notices, pick slips, bills of lading, invoices, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. A junior-level position, our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Shipping, Maritime, Logistics, or other related fields, who possess solid analytical skills, with strong attention to detail. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, client requirements, and industry trends is essential, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must. Our client offers an attractive remuneration and benefits package based on experience and qualifications, including private medical insurance, flexible working hours and a lunch allowance. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading, invoices, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Responds to errors and complaints.
  • Schedules and executions of all incoming and outbound shipments.
  • Resolve issues regarding shipped orders.
  • Offer full assistance and support in shipping and the handling of import and export documentation.
  • Initiating purchase requests and keeping track of the stages through each order is routed.
  • Follows up with supplier and customers for the safe receipt of the shipments.
  • Timely and accurate update of the shipping documents in the ERP system.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Degree in Shipping/Maritime/Logistics Studies.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Solid analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Computer literate including, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Team player and proactive in terms of taking the initiative to perform tasks as required.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, time conscious and responsible.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, client requirements, and industry trends.
  • Highly self-motivated and results oriented with limited supervision.
