CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, one of Cyprus’ most well-known and respected Retail Chains with a presence across Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the successful applicant will handle a variety of accounting and bookkeeping tasks to help ensure the smooth running of the finance function. An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other relevant field is desirable and holders of the LCCI Higher are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess proven experience in a relevant position, be fluent in Greek and possess a good level of written and spoken English.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Bank payment entries.
• Expenses entries.
• Daily bank updates in the system.
• VAT preparation and reconciliation.
• Supplier payments.
• Import goods costing.
• Execution of tax payments.
• Assistance to external auditors for end of year financials.
• Assistance and supervision of Accounting Officers for bookkeeping entries.
• Assistance to the Chief Accountant for Management reports and any other assigned accounting tasks.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other relevant field is desirable.
• Holders of the LCCI Higher accounting certification are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience within a similar accounting and bookkeeping role is essential.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel is a must. 
• Very good knowledge of the Greek language and good knowledge of English.
• Knowledge of SoftOne ERP software will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
• Any previous accounting/bookkeeping experience within the retail sector will be considered advantageous, but not essential.
