CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established Group of Companies offering a range of services including Ship Management, Vessel Chartering, Marine Construction & Aircraft Handling, we are seeking to recruit a Travel Assistant to join their growing team based in Limassol. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for planning and managing travel itineraries for in-house and third parties, including booking flights, accommodation and transportation. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated in Travel, Tourism or other closely related fields, who possess approximately 5 years of proven experience in a relevant position, with demonstrable knowledge of Amadeus and BSP. Our client offers a highly attractive remuneration and benefits package which includes Private Medical Insurance, Provident Fund, and paid overtime.  

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and manage travel itineraries for in-house and third parties, including booking flights, accommodation and transportation.
  • Research to locate the best pricing and options according to requirements.
  • Calculate air travel costs and select the most economical and time-efficient routing.
  • Deal with travel problems, complaints or refunds by communicating effectively with relevant parties.
  • Processing IATA BSP according to requirement.
  • Attend travel seminars to remain updated with tourism trends.
  • Maintain trustworthy relationships with travel agencies and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with IATA requirements, travel policies, procedures, and data protection regulations.
  • Maintain records and databases through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, compilation, coding and updating.
  • Lead by example.
  • Monitor areas of responsibility and communicate any potential issues.
  • Any other reasonable duties as defined by the role and Management.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Certification/Diploma in Travel and Tourism is desirable.
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in a similar environment.
  • Marine travel experience would be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Amadeus system and BSP.
  • Good English, written and oral.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Good knowledge of travel software.
  • Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies.
  • Flexible in work times. Will be required to work outside of normal office hours as operational requirements demand.
