CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a large and well-known provider of Audit & Accounting services to both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for providing a portfolio of clients with a range of accounting and bookkeeping services. An academic background in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar is desirable and candidates who hold any relevant accounting qualifications/certifications such as the LCCI Higher or those working towards the ACA/ACCA qualifications are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess proven experience in a relevant role, and be fluent in verbal and written English. Any previous experience working with accounting software including Xero or QuickBooks Online will be considered an advantage. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Maintaining accounting and bookkeeping records on behalf of clients.
  • Preparing reconciliation statements and computing VAT returns.
  • Preparing and maintaining payroll by collecting information, calculating, and entering data.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including cash flow, income statements and balance sheets.
  • Preparing financial statements and appropriate accounting files for audit.
  • Reviewing of management reports and accounting files.
  • Supervision of staff on their assignments to ensure effective and efficient execution and completion of work.
  • Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff.
  • Review and finalization of bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and VIES assignments.
  • Setting and monitoring of budgets and cost controls.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • An academic background in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another closely related field is desirable.
  • Any relevant accounting qualifications/certifications including the LCCI Higher will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with bookkeeping for local and international clients.
  • Candidates working towards the ACA/ACCA qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks Online will be considered an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of IFRS principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills and accuracy.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
