We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Install and configure software and hardware
• Set up accounts and workstations
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
• Create and maintain tools to automate daily tasks across multiple servers.
• Responsible for all aspects of systems administration including networks, applications, databases, and telecommunications.
• Implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, sage monitoring and development of specialized systems procedures.
• Perform basic systems security administration functions including creating customer profiles and accounts.
• Monitoring and managing system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, tape backup systems.
• Perform systems backup and recovery procedures.
• Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems.
• Maintain system documentation and logs.
• Perform or assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing production problems.
• Maintain network security authentication including IP telephony security, application security.
• Administer secure links with public key encryption, antivirus, user authentication.
• Keep current with new security and network monitoring technologies, applicable laws and regulations.
• Responsible for systems security planning, developing, and implementing security policies across multiple platforms.
• Provide support in security management and security architect standards and documentations.
• Manage and support networking and security services in LAN, WAN and Internet network infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems
• Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
