CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a highly respected, International Insurance company, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Actuarial & Risk Officer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for assisting with assignments in either the Insurance or Financial Services sector, covering traditional actuarial activities such as reserving, modelling, and financial reporting (e.g. Solvency II, IFRS 17). The successful applicant will ideally hold a relevant academic background relating to Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or any other quantitative degree. Any relevant work experience in a similar capacity will be considered an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided and Recent Graduates are therefore encouraged to apply. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek & English are a must.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate, timely and efficient data.
• Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility and knowledge, providing support, maintaining communication and update other senior team members on progress.
• Work on assignments in either Insurance (Life insurance, Life and Non-Life reinsurance) and Financial sector industry covering traditional actuarial activities like reserving, modelling, financial reporting (e.g. Solvency II, IFRS 17).
• Assisting with the external audit as well as broader topics like, new legislations, big data and analytics.
• Performance attribution analysis support.
• Risk management support.
• Ensure delivery of service in line with KPIs.
• Creating mapped records between indices.
• Manually augmenting data to maintain database integrity.
• Creation and maintenance of benchmark validation checks.
• Monitoring of data quality checks.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or any other related discipline from a reputable University.
• Strong team player with a passion for excellence and commitment to delivering work on time and with a flexible working style enjoying working with multi-national teams.
• A desire to pursue the Actuarial Qualification exams.
• Advanced MS office skills.
• Actuarial modeling tool skills (Prophet, Moses) will be considered an advantage.
• Experience in reserving under Solvency II and current accounting standard will be considered an advantage.
• IFRS 17 knowledge will be considered an asset.
• Good skills in large database, statistical packages for data manipulation and in development of predictive and prescriptive models (i.e. R, Python, SQL etc.).
• A consulting mind-set, comfortable navigating through periods of ambiguity and change, and can effectively manage competing priorities.
• Familiarity with the interaction between actuarial tools, MIS and/or policy administration systems.
• A high degree of self–direction and the business acumen to work within a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek & English are a must.
