CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established company operating in the Recycling & Reuse industry, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the accounting function of the company, including handling day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks, VAT preparation and submission as well as payroll execution. An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance or Economics will be considered an advantage and previous, demonstrable experience in a similar role is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek & English are essential and any knowledge of Intelisoft accounting software will be considered an advantage.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping and processing/posting monthly journal entries in the accounting software.
• Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Monthly debtors reconciliations.
• Preparation of payroll.
• VAT/VIES preparation and submission.
• Preparation of payments of expenses and other creditors for approval.
• Liaising and assisting with the company’s auditors during the annual audits.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Any academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other relevant field will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
• Any relevant accounting certifications such as the LCCI Higher are desirable, but not essential.
• Proven experience within a similar accounting and bookkeeping role is essential.
• Experience with the preparation of payroll.
• Experience with the preparation and submission of VAT/VIES.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
• Fluency in English and Greek is essential.
• Good knowledge of accounting programs (Intelisoft will be considered an advantage).
