Associate Quantitative Risk Advisory services

The role:This is an entry-level consultancy position for new graduates in the area of financial services and with a focus on the banking sector. It is a challenging and fulfilling role where you will be a key member of the team in developing quantitative solutions in the areas of risk estimation for our clients in areas such as quantitative risk advisory, advanced data analytics, machine learning, data mining, risk measurement, and strategy.

The Quantitative Risk Advisory Services team assists financial institutions with the development, delivery, validation, and review of bespoke Financial Risk quantitative models with main areas of application within IRB, IFRS9, Stress Testing, and Portfolio management. Our specialist team are market leaders in the development of IRB, IFRS9, and Stress Testing models in accordance with emerging regulatory guidelines. These models support the determination and allocation of client’s regulatory and economic capital. Main responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test quantitative risk models in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Work on a wide range of quantitative topics
  • Driving insight and value from data
  • Grow your knowledge of products and services offered by banks
  • Be exposed to senior clients within Risk, Treasury, and Front Office business areas
  • Actively manage and manipulate big data using statistical and machine learning techniques
  • Supporting clients in the development and design of data infrastructure to ensure successful future model developments and deployments
  • Actively communicating processes, results, and analysis of all decisions to stakeholders and senior management
  • Provide specialist advice to businesses on the impacts of different risk requirements and insights via advanced data analytics

Skills and attributes:

  • A bachelor’s degree (2.1 or higher) in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Risk, Finance, Economics, or any related professional discipline;
  • Postgraduate degree in relevant topic is desirable;
  • Proven record in quantitative topics such as statistical modelling, time series analysis, machine learning, financial mathematics;
  • Experience in Data Processing and Analysis;
  • Programming experience in a statistical environment is required (R, Python, SAS, SQL, VBA, STATA, SPSS);
  • Understanding/experience of the banking sector, the practical operation of companies within that industry, and risk management techniques is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, attention to detail, decision making, and planning skills;
  • Proven ability to critically assess complex/once off issues and problems with the ability to distil significant volumes of information, identifying solutions for root causes of issues;
  • Professional Documentation skills will be considered an advantage (e.g. LaTeX);
  • A professional certification such as FRM, CFA, CQF, CRC would be an advantage.

  • Willingness to study and develop knowledge and skills on various work-related requirements;
  • Ability to take ownership of projects/tasks and provide solutions to challenges;
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills;
  • Communicating effectively at all levels, both in writing and verbally in Greek and in English;
  • Proficiency in other European languages is an advantage;
  • Establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust, and integrity at all levels;
  • The ability to work effectively either individually or as a member of a multi-skilled team;
  • Excellent capability in delivering under tight timeframes;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team spirit, resilience, flexibility, adaptability, and self-motivation;
