THE COMPANY

On behalf of our client, Periyiali Konnos Villas Beach Resort, a newly established unique destination in Konnos area - Protaras, comprising exclusive luxury villas, a private Club House with high-quality Restaurants and Bars, personalised service, Spa and other facilities, we seek to recruit an energetic and high calibre professional for the position of Head Waiter.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the smooth serving of customers of the Resort’s restaurant, including welcoming customers, taking orders, ensuring that food and beverages are served promptly and providing exceptional service to customers.

More specifically, the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the following, amongst others:

• Oversee, direct and coordinate the work of waiters
• Meet with kitchen staff to discuss the menu and specials offered for the day and ingredients
• Conduct daily briefings with waiter staff to provide them with all the required information (e.g. menu, specials, VIP guests, reservations of the day, food ingredients that could cause an allergic reaction)
• Address any customer needs, comments and/or compliance in a professional, courteous and effective manner and inform the Management Team accordingly
• Take reservations and organise table settings
• Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, glasses
• Meet and greet customers and escort them to their table
• Present menu, providing detailed information and answering any questions (e.g. portions, ingredients, food allergens)
• Take food and drink orders, offering advice/recommendations to customers about menu and wine choices when appropriate
• Offer alternatives and/or provide recommendations for additional food or beverage items in an effort to upsell and increase sales
• Communicate order details to the Kitchen in a timely and correct manner
• Deliver food and beverages to customers
• Clear tables and carry dirty dishes, glasses and silverware to kitchen
• Monitor all restaurant opening and closing procedures and report any variance to the Restaurant Manager
• Manage the payment process for customers (e.g. deliver check, ensure it is correct, process cash or card payments, collect the bill payment)
• Follow all rules, regulations and processes as requested by the Management Team
• Ensure that all applicable sanitation, hygiene, health & safety regulations and requirements (e.g. ISO, HACCP,) are adhered to by wait staff
• Coordinate and manage the smooth running of the Restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager
• Provide support the Restaurant Manager in managing restaurant staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning responsibilities/duties, managing of work schedule)
• Handle any administration and paperwork required
• Execute any other duties assigned

REQUIREMENTS              

• Diploma in Hospitality Management from the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus will be considered an advantage
• At least three (3) years of proven experience in a similar position in high-end restaurants
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Health & Safety Rules & Regulations and HACCP standards
• Organisational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Management skills
• Problem-solving sills
• Excellent knowledge of the English and Greek languages
• Knowledge of any other language will be considered as an advantage
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings
