Our School began in 2015 as an educational initiative led by a small, dedicated group of parents and teachers seeking a holistic and nurturing education for children living in Cyprus. Since then, we have grown into a full Waldorf program, the only one of its kind on the island. Our Program seeks to inspire our students and our community the innate joy of learning that is foundational to a healthy human being. During these uncertain times we believe it is crucial to provide a healthy, vibrant, and community oriented learning environment for our students.

We are in the process of planning our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site that will include kindergartens, elementary and high schools, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing IB school on the cusp of a major turning point. We welcome applications from Teaching Graduates to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

• Support and encourage children to achieve confidence and competence in inquiry-based learning 
• Contribute to the assessment of children’ attainment and progress, keeping observation records 
• identify and respond appropriately to individual student needs
• lead learning activities, based on best practice PYP learning both individually and in groups
• present learning tasks and curriculum content in a clear and stimulating manner
• communicate clearly and effectively with children; foster and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with children, teachers and parents
• manage their own and children’s time effectively
• prepare, use and maintain classroom resources to ensure that they are in good working order and sufficient
• provide support and guidance for children to interpret activities and other resources and to set out their work appropriately.
• create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
• set and maintain clear expectations of children’s behaviour and assist in securing appropriate standards of discipline
• learn and develop PYP childhood learning and teaching strategies and approaches
• participate in collaborative planning and add to PYP planners 
• develop secure an understanding of how young children learn and develop, by observation of and with guidance from the teacher and other staff members
• support children in personal hygiene and wellbeing routines
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to children’s learning, development and care at all times

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Primary Education or Pedagogical is a must
• Fluent Greek & English 
• Experience working with children of kindergarten or school age would be an advantage
• Have a mature, responsible and positive disposition and be able to work flexibly as member of the PYP team under the direction of the teachers and independently when required
• Have an understanding of the importance of children's learning and development in the PYP
• Be open minded and willing to further their knowledge and development by attending training courses, and maintaining updated knowledge of international PYP best practice
• Exemplify high standards in practice and provision at all times
• IB experience is an advantage
