On behalf of our client, a well-established company operating in the food, beverage and catering industry, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Accounting Manager (CR/66).

Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the role entails the following responsibilities:

• Coordinate, supervise and develop the accounting team

• Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation

• Prepare detailed journal entries and account analysis

• Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes

• Focuses continuously on improving system efficiencies and business practices

• Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud

• Work with Chief Accountant to ensure overall coordination of all financial accounting activities through annual reports

• Prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget

The successful candidate should have: 

• At least 5 years of proven experience within a sizable accounting department of a reputable organization

• University degree in Accounting or Finance or related field

• Membership in a professional accounting body (ACA / ACCA / CPA) will be considered an advantage

• Proven record of team management and leadership skills which foster a positive and challenging working environment

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Great knowledge of current accounting practices and techniques

• Fluency in both Greek and English (verbal and written)
