CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and respected provider of Audit & Accounting Services to clients in both Cyprus and Abroad, we are seeking to recruit a Client Accountant to join their expanding team in Nicosia. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing accounting and booking for small, medium and large sized companies under the supervision of a Senior Accountant. You will have a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar position and be fluent in both Greek and English.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 

  • Analyses complex financial reports and records.
  • Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations.
  • Maintains accounting records and prepares accounts and management information.
  • Prepares General Ledgers and Trial Balances and management accounts on set time periods.
  • Provides assistance in the preparation of all documents required for the accounting: engagement letters, company documentation and other confirmation letters as accounting evidence.
  • Deals with Tax and VAT issues, ensuring compliance with Tax and VAT legislation.
  • Assists during the audit process by liaising with the Auditors and responding to any questions or queries they may have.
  • Liaises with clients to obtain information needed for the accounting and for the Company’s AML procedures.
  • Performs simplified and Enhanced Due Diligence for AML purposes.
  • Reviews journal entries of Junior Accountants to ensure accuracy.
  • Performs the transaction monitoring in accordance with the Firm’s AML policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Reports to Senior Accountants / Accounting Managers.

 
Key Skills/Experience:
 

  • High School Diploma.
  • Higher diploma in accounting.
  • 2+ years of related working experience is a must.
  • Experience with Payroll will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Very good user of MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Able to learn new software quickly (WiseBos – AML & Time Sheets).
  • Very good knowledge of IFRSs.
  • Very good knowledge of AML legislation will be considered an advantage.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written in Greek & English.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Pleasant personality with a “can do” attitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure and in meeting deadlines.
