POSITION OF GYM INSTRUCTOR

JOB PURPOSE

The Gym Instructor will perform all fitness duties and classes, ensuring the gym are fully operational. He/she will also prepare all professional fitness programs, in the most efficient and effective manner. He/she will deliver the highest possible standards of service to all guests, through the effective management of all equipment and provisions, and will be pro-active in maximising sales and maintaining and/or improving the department’s profitability in accordance with Hotel policies, procedures and standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To demonstrate thorough knowledge and ability in the execution of the required daily Gym work and to carry out all classes/bookings available on the programme.
• To understand all facilities, service standards, methods of delivery and presentation of classes, retail and sales techniques, and cleanliness of all Gym areas.
• To collect her/his daily classes/bookings schedule from the Spa reception.
• To make personal fitness programmes for all new members and guests.
• To ensure guests using the gym are following the rules and regulations set by the Hotel.
• To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• To be a Certified Gym Instructor.
• 3 years practical experience within fitness environment.
• Good knowledge of English. One foreign language in addition to English will be considered an additional advantage.
• Well organised and prepared for all classes.
• Well educated on all machines within the gym.
• Very good communication skills.
• Look smart and tidy at all times.
• Pleasant and friendly personality, reliable and polite.
