Purpose of the position

The purpose of SAT‑7 is to provide Christian satellite television and online services to support the work and witness of the church in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Broadcast and IT Director has the overall responsibility for SAT-7’s day to day technical operations including broadcast and IT functions.

Key responsibilities

• In charge of the technical strategy of SAT-7, contributing to the digital distribution strategy
• Implementing and managing infrastructure and broadcasting systems to support the SAT-7 ministry in the Middle East and North Africa
• The successful candidate will run a team based in Cyprus which provisions common systems and infrastructure for all offices across the region and has functional responsibility for IT and broadcasting staff in other offices
• In charge of SAT-7’s outsourced broadcasting partners, provision of core business systems, networks and encoding, office and video editing computers, IT security etc
• Define, maintain and improve broadcast and IT standards and capability across SAT-7
• Responsible for on-screen quality and consistency across channels in terms of processes
• Set budgets and negotiate contracts effectively

Qualifications and requirements

• Be committed to and enthusiastic about the purpose and goals of SAT-7
• Managerial experience in a similar organisation is required
• High-level knowledge of IT management is mandatory
• A degree in IT and/or television/cinema or broadcasting studies
• Experience of working in the Middle East or North Africa is a plus
• Be interested in social media and apps and know about developing digital media strategies
• Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities
• Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication skills to facilitate working in a multi-cultural, multi-denominational environment
• Fluent in English; Arabic, Farsi or Turkish an advantage
