CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding and well-known brand operating within the Retail Sector, we are seeking to recruit a highly capable and suitably well-qualified Financial Accountant to join their team of professionals based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will ideally be recently ACCA/ACA qualified or at the final stages of the professional qualification and have approximately 5 years of relevant accounting experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Assist and review data processing of accounting and bookkeeping & verify the accuracy of data.
• Monitor and supervise the financial operations of Cyprus and Greek companies.
• Preparation of management accounts and year-end financial statements & liaison with the external auditors.
• Preparation and submission of various reports to authorities (VAT, Social Insurance, VIES etc.).
• Assist in preparation of payroll.
• Provide assistance with ad hoc projects.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• University degree in Accounting and Finance/ related.
• In the process of obtaining a professional qualification (ACCA) – last papers.
• Completed ACCA qualification will be considered as an advantage (Recently Qualified).
• 5+ years related work experience preferably in the retail sector.
• Excellent knowledge of both Greek and English language (oral and written).
• Candidates with only Audit experience can only be considered if they have a portfolio of clients that are Cyprus registered companies who are trading companies (any industry).
• Previous and demonstrable experience with the preparation of Payroll is a must.
• Experience and knowledge of the completion of VAT forms is required.
• Management and team leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to prioritize.
