As an Engineering Quality Manager (EQM) you are reporting to the Accountable Manager and have the following duties:

  • Monitor the organisation’s engineering and maintenance compliance with Part-M and requesting remedial actions necessary by the organisation;
  • Management of the Quality Control System within the Continuing Airworthiness department and that the quality inspection work is carried out in cooperation with the TD to facilitate the efficiency of the work;
  • Plan and manage Supplier audits and evaluation;
  • Conduct quality and safety incident investigations (in coordination with compliance and safety departments as required);
  • Ensure maintenance quality integration with the TUS Management System;
  • Monitor Part M activities to ensure performance in accordance with the EASA regulations, industry standards, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements and TUS policies;
  • Manage and develop the maintenance occurrence reporting system in coordination with the Safety Manager;
  • Amend the Exposition and monitor regulations monthly or by subscription;
  • Ensure all contracted activities are performed in accordance with signed agreements, regulatory requirements OEM procedures and industry/company standards;
  • Responsible for the development, planning, maintenance and implementation of the Tus Airways Engineering Quality Audit Plan;
  • Ensure the performance of audits and inspections according to the Audit Plan, filling of compliance documentation, control of appropriate and on time performance of corrective actions and evaluation of corrective actions effectiveness through the follow-up process;
  • Ensure the independence of the engineering quality oversight functions;
  • Ensure the continual review and improvement of the engineering quality function;
  • Maintain a continued feedback system to the AM regarding the adequacy of the engineering quality function, ensuring that deficiencies and non-compliances are identified, root cause analysed, and the appropriate corrective/preventive actions put in place in a timely manner;
  • Attend the Safety Review Board and Safety Action Groups to provide briefing on engineering quality activities;
  • Provide periodic data evaluation reports on the organization’s quality engineering performance as an input to the management evaluation;
  • Develop and manage the financial budget for the engineering quality department;
  • Ensure the communication of engineering quality data and information to all personnel and relevant contractors or external providers;
  • Ensure an effective Management System through continuous coordination and communication with the SM and CMM and Security Manager;
  • Establish, maintain and promote Safety, Security and Compliance awareness across operational and non-operational areas including executive management personnel;
  • Ensure understanding of, commitment to and compliance with the Tus Airways Safety, Security and Compliance Policy;
  • Advise the management team on engineering quality matters;
  • Coordinate and communicate (on behalf of the Accountable Manager) on engineering quality issues within the organization, as well as with Cyprus DCA, external agencies, contractors and stakeholders as appropriate;
  • Conduct risk assessments and management of change for the engineering quality department;
  • Measure safety performance for the engineering quality department, through the development, recording and analysis of safety performance indicators (SPI’s) and targets (SPT’s) and for safety improvement;
  • Record and analyse any deviations from Company standards and take necessary actions for any significant trend identified from safety performance measurement;
  • Commitment to Tus Airways Air Fatigue Management programme and principles as per OM Part-A 7.2.4;
  • Participate in ERP exercises and deployments as per Company policies and procedures and in accordance with assigned duties as outlined in the TUS Emergency Response Plan;
  • Performance of audits to the sub-contracted maintenance organizations; 
  • Performance of internal Engineering activity audits;
  • Performance of external eligible ACMI operators including their Engineering departments, Quality departments and maintenance organization arrangements;
  • Conduct aircraft inspections including TUS fleet and ACMI operators;
  • Company representative during audits performed by the authorities and external organizations such as IOSA;

Qualifications:

  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of operational requirements and procedures
  • Knowledge of quality systems.
  • Five years of relevant work of which at least two years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
  • A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education acceptable to CYPRUS DCA.
  • Thorough knowledge of the company CAME, Operation Manuals and Safety & quality Management System.
  • Knowledge of a relevant sample of the types of aircrafts maintained by the organisation. At least at a level equivalent to Part 66 Appendix III Level 1 
  • General familiarisation, which can be imparted by an organisation accepted Cyprus DCA.
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations (Basic Regulation (EC) 216/2008, Commission Regulation (EC) 1321/2014 and Commission Regulation (EC) 748/2012, etc.
