On behalf of our client, a reputable and successful Group of Companies, we are seeking to recruit an experienced professional for the position of Concrete Operations General Manager to be based in OMAN. The Group operates a Ready-mix concrete plant and a Precast plant at Special Economic Zone (SEZAD) in Duqm, OMAN.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be appointed at the position of Concrete Operations General Manager and will be reporting directly to the Group General Manager and to the Managing Director. Main duties and responsibilities include, amongst other:

• Supervise the batching plant employees as well as ready mix drivers
• Supervise the block plant employees
• Monitor the two production lines (batching plant and block plant) daily production against forecast daily requirements
• Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out as planned
• Be the single point contact between batching/ block plant and sites project managers
• Attend daily concrete planning and precast supply meetings
• Monitor equipment availability against plan
• Coordinate with the Project Managers (PMs) to ensure all necessary work permits have been applied for and granted prior to commencing work
• Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, personnel forecasts, and costing of the various concrete products
• Liaise with the PM construction team to ensure the timely and cost effective delivery of concrete and concrete products produced
• Attend construction meetings with the PMs as required
• Ansure the batch concrete load and the precast products supplied are according to specifications
• Understand and produce appropriate uses of various mix designs
• Responsible for efficient working condition of the two production lines equipment
• Ensure safe operation of related equipment
• Perform servicing and maintenance
• Ensure cost effective operations of the batching plant, concrete transit mixers, pumps, forklifts, block plant, power generators etc.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related degree
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role
• Previous Middle East experience will be considered as advantage
• Thorough understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards associated with Concrete business
• Knowledge of industry best practices
• Sound decision-making abilities
• Demonstrated experience leading and coaching teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Computer literate and proficient
