American Medical Center / American Heart Institute is looking to hire people for the following position:

Medical Laboratory Scientist

Key Requirements

• BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Biomedical Sciences with specialty in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Haematology or Molecular.
• A minimum of one year post qualifying experience in an accredited clinical laboratory is required.
• Fluency of Greek and English language.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office programs, online email, calendar and/or other Windows based software.
• Previous hospital experience will also be considered an advantage.
• Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service orientation.
• Able to work on a 24/7 shift schedule.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Trustworthy and reliable person.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine work to the highest standard, as determined by laboratory management.
• Ensure that all samples are processed in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Be responsible for the quality of work in the laboratory and carry out duties in accordance with Laboratory policy.
• Use information technology to accurate record and analyse data, write reports, share results and maintain the correct and efficient functioning of the LIS.
• Stock taking of supplies and anticipate needs report to supervisor and execute orders.
• Perform phlebotomy on outpatient clients.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team is an important quality for the role.

The successful candidate should be able to work under time pressure in a busy and fast-paced environment, to react quickly and immediately respond to emergencies and be able to handle multiple tasks and deal with an environment of changing priorities. He or she should have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and should be comfortable working in a clinical environment. The job position is based on a 24/7 manner, thus the successful candidate must be willing to work on a shift schedule.
