Purchasing Officer
On behalf of a client, a pioneer in the import and distribution of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), is seeking to hire a Purchasing Officer for full-time employment in Nicosia.
Objective
Collects data and information to prepare purchase orders for products and raw materials. Plans and carries out imports, costings, and is responsible for the proper handling of inventory.
Position’s Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares purchase orders to international suppliers based on demand planning and sends the corresponding copies.

Receives and verifies order confirmations from suppliers.

Communicates with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, delays, or other issues.

Reconciles supplier invoices with purchase orders and other necessary documents.

Monitors the progress of orders and deliveries until they arrive at the port.

Collects and checks the accuracy of import documentation.

Communicates with customs brokers and ensures timely customs clearance.

Checks delivery forms upon arrival to verify correct execution of orders and product compliance with specifications, in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager.

Calculates order costs and performs costings.

Monitors inventory movement and product expiry dates.

Analyzes and prepares reports on sales, inventory, purchasing, and costings using the company’s software and Business Intelligence systems.

Keeps up to date with internal and external regulations and legislation related to procurement and provides information to colleagues or suppliers.

Carries out other general office-related tasks as required.
Position’s Requirements

University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics, or any other related field.

3-5 years of previous experience in a similar position.

Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP & Business Intelligence software is an additional advantage.

Excellent command of both Greek and English.

Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Comfort working with numbers, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
