Job Summary

As a Motor Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating risks associated with motor insurance policies. You will develop your expertise in underwriting principles, policy guidelines and market trends to make informed decisions and ensure profitable portfolio management. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze motor insurance applications and assess risks based on company guidelines and industry standards.

• Conduct thorough risk assessments, including evaluating policyholders' information, conducting inspections if necessary, and determining appropriate coverage and pricing.

• Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other internal teams to gather necessary information, clarify policy details, and resolve any discrepancies.

• Make underwriting decisions based on established guidelines, risk appetite, and market trends to maintain a profitable portfolio.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and maintain accurate documentation of underwriting decisions and processes.

• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks to provide insights and recommendations for product development and pricing strategies.

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field.

• Proven experience in Motor Underwriting or similar role within the insurance industry.

• Basic knowledge of non-motor insurance policies, underwriting principles, and risk assessment techniques.

• Familiarity with insurance regulations and compliance standards.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound underwriting decisions.

• Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams, brokers, agents, and policyholders.
