CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a CySEC Licenced Investment Firm with offices across Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Risk Management Associate to join their growing team based in Nicosia. Working alongside the Chief Risk Officer, the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for assisting with the daily calculation and monitoring of capital adequacy and liquidity requirements for various Group regulated entities as well as updating and preparing various reports on risk, capital, and liquidity. You will ideally be educated to degree level in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or any other relevant field and possess proven experience in Financial Risk Management with good knowledge of regulatory capital frameworks including Basel, CRR, IFPR & IFR/IFD. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist the CRO in the daily calculation and monitoring of capital adequacy and liquidity requirements for various Group regulated entities.
  • Perform various reconciliations to verify that our systems are always up to date.
  • Regularly update our internal systems with various input data, and ensure accurate results are displayed.
  • Assist the CRO in updating and preparing various reports on risk, capital, and liquidity.
  • Automate various risk management processes that are already in place and assist in the implementation of new ones.
  • Assist in the implementation and update of policies, procedures, and reports on risk management (Risk Management Framework, Internal controls, Market risk and Credit Risk limits, Group Limits, VAR and Stress Tests, P&L cuts, Concentration Risk Limits, Risk appetite thresholds, KPIs, KRIs, EWIs, Product Governance, Enterprise Risk Management, Risk registers/logs, BCP, Annual Risks management report, etc)
  • Assist the CRO to oversee processes across the company and ensure they comply with risk management policies – therefore, conducting ongoing monitoring of the risk identified and the company’s processes and suggest controls to mitigate/manage risk.
  • Assist in the preparation of various stress tests and VAR models.
  • Monitor various KPIs and KRIs and assist in the regular update of our Risk appetite framework.
  • Assist in the regular update of Market risk and Counterparty credit risk limits.
  • Support in the ongoing identification and evaluation of fundamental risks faced by our entities.
  • Complete on a continuous basis our Group Operational RCSA form to cover specific Operational Risk incidents.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of all FCA MIF00 Returns and CySEC CoREP, ICARA report, Wind down plan, SREP process, Pillar 3 Disclosures, Recovery Plans and or other communication with regulatory bodies on capital and or risk related topics.
  • Performing ongoing data collection and statistical analysis and preparing relevant risk assessment reports on a regular basis.
  • Turn raw data into meaningful insights and build interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards, either via excel and or Power BI.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in Finance, Financial Risk Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • CFA, PRM, FRM and or CySEC advance certificate would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in Financial Risk Management.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory capital frameworks, Basel, CRR, IFPR, IFR/IFD.
  • Understand financial markets, CFD/DMA products and have working knowledge of trading platforms (both front end and back end).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially have very good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (VBA, etc).
  • Be able to handle large amounts of raw data and perform calculations and analysis on these data.
  • Friendly character and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Productive and efficient individual.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver under short timeframes.
  • Enthusiastic professional that wants to learn and assist.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivation and passion for work with data and ability to shape data into reports and analytics solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
