CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding provider of Cybersecurity Consultancy Services to clients operating in various industry sectors, we are seeking to recruit a Cybersecurity Consultant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant can expect to be involved in a wide range of challenging engagements mostly in the technical domain of cybersecurity, ranging from Cybersecurity risk, threat and vulnerability reviews, through optimisation of client cybersecurity controls and development of cyber security frameworks and programmes to providing specialist support on issues such as threat analysis, systems behaviour and cyber incidents/data breaches response. You will ideally hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other relevant field, with an MSc in Cybersecurity considered highly desirable and possess approximately 3 years or previous experience in the Information Security field.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understanding clients’ business challenges and the threats they face.
  • Advising on cyber security governance, frameworks and operating models.
  • Helping them optimise their approach to cyber security technical controls and risk management.
  • Balancing between protection, detection, reaction and response to cyber-attacks.
  • Linking cyber security to other consultancy offerings on risk management, resilience and compliance provide holistic support to our clients.
  • Acting with highest standard of ethics and integrity as a security professional.
  • Supporting business development activities such as proposal development, content production and client presentations.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, or other Information Technology field, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mathematics or other relevant university degree.
  • Masters in Cybersecurity and/or recognised cyber security qualifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001, etc.), or comparable experience will be considered an advantage.
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Proven track record in cyber security environment within professional services or an internal formation security function or experience in disciplines such as IT/Technology Consulting, IT Risk Management and audit or network security.
  • Very good understanding and experience with security technology solutions i.e. firewalls, Threat Detection and SIEM platforms.
  • Experience with Information Security Management Standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and/or NIST.
  • Good knowledge of EU cybersecurity and data protection legislation, especially NIS Directive.
  • Proven ability to review information systems, applications and IT infrastructures such as networks, operating systems and databases.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of cyber security topics e.g. governance, identity and access management, supply chain risks, security operations, incident management etc…
  • Proven experience of a wide range of information security methodologies and principles such as information security risk management methodologies and incident investigation and response.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and security attitude.
  • Self-motivation and genuine interest to work independently and as part of a team in the cyber security field.
  • Able to work island-wide and travel overseas (within the region).
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment.
