The Company

On behalf of our client, a well-established Hospital, we seek to recruit a dynamic and high calibre professional for the position of General Manager, to be based in Nicosia.

The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible to manage the Hospital's day-to-day operations. Furthermore, s/he will be expected to co-define and overview the implementation of the Hospital’s strategy, with the aim to improve operational efficiency, streamline costs, increase revenues and provide exceptional patient care.

More specifically, the role and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, amongst other, the following:

• Liaise with the Board of Directors to define the operational objectives of the Hospital, communicate the strategic direction across the Hospital and execute all decisions approved by the Board
• Assist in the strategic planning for future development of the Hospital and the business development of the operational services
• Develop, implement and monitor short-term and long-term business strategies and initiatives, which will ensure the effective and efficient operations of the Hospital
• Oversee the development and the quality of various programs in the Hospital, in order to ensure the best possible medical care at the most reasonable cost
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices in the administration of the Hospital with reference to corporate services, medical insurance, material management, facility management, etc.
• Keep up-to-date and ensure the compliance of the Hospital’s facilities / departments with all international and local healthcare legislation, directives, regulations and best practices
• Ensure that all data protection and quality management systems are implemented and maintained in the Hospital
• Supervise and direct the Hospital’s day-to-day activities and maintain constant communication with the Board of Directors and the heads of departments on the status of operations
• Streamline the operational procedures of the Hospital, and develop new policies with the aim to improve patient care and experience
• Monitor the financial activity reports of the Hospital, budgeting, revenue and expenditure monitoring and identify possible areas of improvements and take immediate action
• Collaborate with all appropriate authorities and external / internal stakeholders, in order to ensure the smooth operation of the Hospital
• Work in close collaboration with clinical and non-clinical functions to ensure delivery of world class Healthcare services
• Oversee key hiring, talent development programs and ensure execution of fair personnel policies and procedures

Requirements

• University degree (BA/BSc) in Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, or in any other related field
• Master’s Degree in any related field will be considered as an advantage
• At least five (5) years of experience in a similar position and/or industry
• Proven leadership skills and experience in managing people and teams effectively
• Strong orientation towards operational matters
• Results oriented with strong business acumen
• Organisational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
• Strong crisis management skills and ability to effectively handle any issues for the benefit of the Hospital’s reputation
• Strong financial understanding
• Excellent representation and communication skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
• Excellent knowledge of Greek and English, both written and verbal
• Excellent computer literacy

Remuneration
