CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, X-FLOW (www.xflowgames.com), a leading mobile game development company with offices in Cyprus and the UK, supported by partnership tech centres worldwide, including Belarus and Ukraine, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Legal Counsel to join their expanding team based in Limassol. X-FLOW gained recognition after the release of Happy Colour, a worldwide leader in the digital colouring niche with more than 200M of installs, 5M daily active users and partnerships with Marvel (© 2021 MARVEL), DISNEY (© 2021 DISNEY), Warner Bros (© 2021 WBEI). The successful applicant will ideally possess 3+ years of experience in a similar legal position within the Gaming and/or Information Technology industries and will be fluent in English. Knowledge of the Russian language will be considered an advantage.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Managing contractual work within the company (agreements with R&D centers, strategic partners, game studios, office maintenance agreements, etc.).
• Reviewing and reconciling agreements/terms of use with advertising networks (UA/monetization), licensors, analytics providers, and other internet services.
• Employment matters.
• Ensuring trade secrets protection (NDAs with partners, independent contractors, employees).
• IP sale, purchase and licensing.
• Maintaining the company’s IP portfolio, liaising with the company’s accounting team on intangible assets.
• Ensuring proper IP transfer from third parties, IP clearance of the company’s products.
• Managing trademark registrations worldwide.
• Ensuring data protection compliance of the company and the company’s products (GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, LGPD, etc.).
• Ensuring compliance with App Store and Google Play policies.
• IP protection, dispute resolution on App Store, Google Play and other platforms.
• Drafting and updating documentation with end users (Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, etc.).
• Handling of end user complaints and data requests.
• Risk management.
• Participation and support in the company’s annual financial audits.
• Close interaction with and legal support of the company’s management, back-office and other departments.
• Managing external legal consultants and overseeing their performance.
• Corporative matters.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Educated to degree level in Law.
• Ideally 3+ years of experience in Law within Gaming, Information Technology and or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of IP law.
• Fluent in English. 
• Knowledge of Russian language is an advantage.
• Strategic thinking and multitasking.
• Risk management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and to liaise with other departments and offices.
• Ability to manage and prioritize complex workload.
