CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Hotel and Commercial Real Estate Investment Group with operations in Europe, we are seeking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join their team. The successful applicant must be a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and possess 7+ years post-qualification experience in a reputable firm in a role with similar responsibilities and with a focus on property law and transactions. Fluency in English and Greek are essential.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Liaising with Group’s external lawyers, advisors and third parties in relation to the Group’s legal affairs.
  • Lead the negotiations of financing agreements with banking institutions and be in charge of the required legal documentation.
  • Lead the legal due diligence process for acquisitions with the support of assigned law firms.
  • Assess, draft, revise, negotiate and conclude legal agreements and/or provide legal advice and opinions for such agreements including sale and purchase agreements, consultants agreements, contractor’s agreements, loan agreements and insurance agreements among other.
  • Maintain the log and ensure the timely renewal of contractors’ bank guarantees and insurance policies.
  • Ensure the completeness of the legal documents of each project.
  • Provide internal legal advice and guidance to all the members of the Group with regards to any legal matter that may arise.
  • Respond promptly to internal requests, summarizing and communicating legal risks while allowing a balance of risk that conforms to the Group’s business objectives.
  • Oversee the KYC documentation.
  • Ensure the Group Companies’ compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

 

  • LLB and LLM from a Greek or British University,
  • Qualified by the Cyprus Bar Association.
  • 7+ years post-qualification experience in a reputable firm in a role with similar responsibilities and with a focus on property law and transactions.
  • Fluent and good business writing skills in English and Greek.
  • Practical knowledge of the contract, commercial, and corporate law.
  • Commitment and proactiveness.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently and to prioritize workflow to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with the various teams and departments of the group to achieve the required results.
  • Flexibility to travel if required.
  • Ability to work remotely.
