CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

THE ORGANIZATION

On behalf of our client, a leading Insurance Organization, we are seeking to recruit an experienced and high calibre professional for the position of Chief Information Officer, to be based in Nicosia. 

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing the Information Technology strategy and will lead the digital transformation programme of the group while proactively responding to the evolving technological needs of the Organization.

More specifically, the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the following, amongst others:

  • Define and implement the medium and long-term Information Technology strategy and its related roadmap to support business requirements and priorities
  • Build the stages of the digital transformation journey and identify opportunities to achieve synergies and operational excellence
  • Monitor and evaluate existing technologies and new emerging possibilities on an ongoing basis, in order to understand and proactively respond to future challenges
  • Maintain responsibility for all aspects of IT, including network infrastructure, business applications, systems and technology
  • Be accountable for the software and IT services delivery to the business, as well as quality and change delivery, ensuring that the Organization’s systems are always operational and ready to support the business
  • Develop and promote the enterprise architecture principles, designs and services as a part of Agile engineering practices to drive productivity and quality
  • Design, implement and monitor policies, standards and procedures for all areas of IT operation, in order to be in line with compliance, governance and risk management requirements
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit teams and respond to audit and regulatory recommendations / findings
  • Set up and continuously monitoring the IT Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Lead, inspire and coach IT teams, provide training and re-skilling opportunities as well as encouragement and support for the achievement of key individual and departmental objectives
  • Monitor the IT budget, ensure value optimization, oversee expenditures and proactively identify risk of budget overruns against planned spending and take corrective action as necessary
  • Engage and manage external vendors as needed, to deliver the required core IT systems and network services and lead vendor contract negotiations

REQUIREMENTS     

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in Information Technology related field
  • Master’s Degree will be considered as an advantage
  • At least ten (10) years of proven experience in similar positions (i.e. Digital Transformation Manager, IT Director or CIO/CTO) in reputable organisations, preferably with a growth or change environment
  • Previous related experience in the professional services sector, preferably in the financial/insurance sectors
  • Experienced with Agile & DevOps methodologies, tools and measurement practices
  • Solid technical background, with strong understanding or working knowledge of software development and web technologies
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and solid representational skills
  • Successful track record in leading teams
  • Business acumen, results and strategic orientation
  • Excellent knowledge of the English and Greek languages, both written and spoken

REMUNERATION PACKAGE

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate, according to qualifications and experience.
