VACANCY FOR LABORATORY SCIENTIFIC OFFICER

THE POSITION 
The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics is looking for a Laboratory Scientific Officer for its Molecular Genetics Thalassaemia Department. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
The successful candidate will be involved in the collection, curation and analysis of data related to epidemiology and genetics of haemoglobinopathies and rare anaemias. In addition, the successful candidate will be involved in the preparation of research proposals and management of specific research activities in the department. 
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 
BSc or equivalent degree in any Biological Science or closely related field.
 
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS 

• MSc or PhD degree in Molecular Biology or Molecular Genetics or closely related fields
• Previous experience in the curation of biological databases
• Previous research experience in haematological diseases
