CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and respected provider of Information Technology solutions to clients across Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Data Engineer/Analyst to join their expanding team in Nicosia. The successful applicant will ideally hold a relevant academic background relating to Data Science/Computer Science/Statistics or a related field and possess proven, previous experience in a similar role. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Azure Data solutions.
• Have a solid understanding of the business and operational aspects for the supported data solutions.
• Responsible for data analysis, design, installation, configuration, implementation, problem resolution, testing and user support for all supported solutions.
• Build and facilitate department objectives to meet company and project objectives in an efficient manner.
• Deploy sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods.
• Initiate, structure and negotiate detail and successful outcomes for clients and companies.
• Build, prioritise, manage and communicate among the department and ensure deadlines  and procedures are followed.
• Ensuring that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the department.
• Identifying and implementing technology trends that will be able to support the future success of the business.
• Conduct training on new or changed systems for both users and new employees.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as installation, configuration and support members to launch new projects.
• Able to resolve product/software problems utilizing technical support services when necessary via on-site, telephone, both verbally and through remote communication.
• Analyse business operations as they relate to design decisions, and prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.
• Liaise, maintain and nurture client relationships.
• Recommend and execute improvements for existing applications.
• Develop level of effort estimates and ability to track actual time worked accurately.
• Support the business development team with pre-sale activities, contributing to RFPs where appropriate and assisting in presentations to potential clients where required.
• Represent the company at key industry events.

Key Skills/Experience:

• University degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or relevant field.
• Proven experience in a similar position.
• Minimum 3+ Years of direct work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession.
• Thorough knowledge of business application concepts.
• In-depth understanding of the business data solutions implementation lifecycle.
• Awareness of best practice systems implementation methodologies.
• Experience with consulting services including team facilitation, business case development, process mapping.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data platforms/services.
• Previous working experience as Data Engineer or Data Scientist on Azure Synapse Analytics will be considered as an advantage.
• Advanced system implementation skills including requirements / process analysis, data analysis, conceptual and detail design, configuration, testing, training and support.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills by delivering ideas and defining technology roadmaps clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a larger project team.
