Our Legal department is expanding tremendously over the past years, we’re on a mission to find a talented Legal Counsel with a focus on IP. The purpose of this role is to strengthen the Intellectual Property and Brand Protection Division of our Legal Department. 

The core duties of this role are monitoring and taking enforcement action on various online brand violation cases, in particular, in the Chinese digital space. In addition, the role may include management of our trademark and copyright portfolio (new registrations, renewals, handling oppositions and defenses, monitoring and taking enforcement actions on possible infringements) and management of our domain names portfolio.

We are looking for a person with experience or deep interest in protecting IPR’s in the global digital marketplace who at the same time is commercially oriented and eager to learn and understand our business and the services we provide. 

In addition, excellent people skills are needed to be able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders in and outside the group. Experience from online financial services or similar industries is also very much appreciated. 

The role will report into the Lead of the Intellectual Property and Brand Protection Division of the Legal Department. 

The role will be full time and based in Limassol, Cyprus.

The full requirements are: 

  • Minimum 2 years legal/paralegal or brand protection experience, either from a law firm or from in-house positions
  • Good theoretical understanding or practical experience of online brand protection
  • Command of Chinese or prior experience of brand protection or similar activities on the Chinese digital market.
  • Experience from working hands-on in or with international digital companies
  • A commercial mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Wanted but not necessary is:

  • Holder of at least a University degree in Law (LLB) or relevant experience
  • Experience from from working in or with owner led organisations
  • Experience from CFD/FX sector
  • Verbally proficient in the Russian language
