Career Opportunity
On behalf of a major client operating in the FMCG / Food Industry Sector, we seek to recruit a highly organized Fleet Manager, who will be responsible to optimize the Fleet and transportation operations of the company. The individual will be working from the company’s offices in Larnaca or Limassol.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cost effective driver schedules.
- Ensure that legal obligations related to the company’s vehicles and drivers are met (incl. registering the vehicles, renewing vehicle licenses and insurance coverages, MOT, and ensuring drivers have the correct licenses).
- Monitor and report on the Tachographs and speed limiters.
- Ensure the proper operation of the vehicle refrigerators, monitor, and produce refrigeration reports.
- Schedule regular vehicle maintenance and repair works.
- Develop business continuity plans, to ensure that unforeseen and emergency situations are handled in a timely and efficient manner (incl. vehicle breakages, unavailability of drivers, and urgent delivery of products to clients).
- Promote a safety-conscious, timely and budget-efficient mindset for the transportation of products.
- Plan relevant trainings for drivers (e.g. on Health and Safety, good driving, etc.).
- Monitor driver behaviour for good, safe and economical driving.
- Maintain relevant records up to date (incl. on vehicle servicing, inspections, registrations, licenses, breakages, issues, maintenance, fuel consumption, accidents).
- Monitor spare parts procurement and labour repair costs.
- Seek tenders and follow up on procurement of commonly used parts (tyres, batteries, certain spares).
- Analyze data and submit recommendations to Management for improvements (e.g. ways to minimize costs, increase fuel efficiency, and whether to lease or purchase vehicles).
- Submit various regular and ad hoc reports to Management.
- Cooperate with other departments to ensure the transportation and delivery of products within agreed timeframes.
- Undertake other relevant duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or another related field.
- At least 5 years of related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
- Computer literacy.
- Management skills.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Quantitative ability.
