CORE JOB INFORMATION

 

Department           : Restaurant

Working hours       : Full time – 40 hours per week – 5/6 days per week

Position reports to : Restaurant Manager, Assistant, Supervisor, Head Waiter, Waiter A B

 

PROFILE

The Waiter C will ensure that all food, beverage and other products are served promptly and in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering the highest possible standards of service to all guests in the restaurants; the Waiter C will also be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving department profitability whilst following the Hotel policies, procedures and standards.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete the full range of restaurant duties: prepare/set up tables, stations, clean equipment; greet and escort guests/customers to their tables; present menus; provide detailed information; offer recommendations; up-sell additional products; take accurate food and drinks orders; communicate details to the kitchen or bar staff; serve food and drink orders; process bills; handle payments, 
  • Train and coach team members so they develop their system knowledge and personal skills,
  • Resolve issues/problems, and encourage other team members to ensure service standards and company policies are achieved,
  • Respond to guests' needs and requests, resolve issues/complaints/problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service,
  • Work proactively, focusing on delivering standards whilst maximising revenues,
  • Build strong relationships with other personnel from kitchens, bars, room service, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • High school graduate or equivalent will be an advantage,
  • Ideally will possess previous restaurant waiter experience, or in the catering/hospitality sector,
  • Having attended a hotel/catering school as well as having previous experience in a similar luxury hotel, will be considered additional advantages,
  • Strong customer service skills,
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written),
  • Active listening skills,
  • Must speak, read, and write Greek or English; knowledge of additional languages (Russian, etc.) will be considered an additional advantage.
