The Client

On behalf of our client, a banking institution in Nicosia, we are currently seeking to recruit a professional individual for the position of Senior Market and Liquidity Risk Officer.

The position

The successful candidate will be responsible for the measurement, monitoring and management of significant market and liquidity risks inherent in the Bank’s activities by using appropriate systems for risk measurement and monitoring.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and enhance relevant policies in order to ensure that these reflect the best practice and comply with regulatory guidance and expectations

• Research data for daily, weekly and monthly reports

• Reporting on market risk related matters (FX, liquidity, Interest rate and Liquidity gaps, counterparty risk) on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

• Supervision of adherence to market risk limits and escalation of breaches

• Stress testing various market risk position

• Monitoring of Treasury activity

• Preparation of regulatory reporting requirements (LCR, ALMM, NSFR, etc)

• Suggesting solutions and taking action for maintaining various indices at the desired levels

• Monitoring the Mark to Market of financial assets and reporting on all significant valuation changes that may negatively affect the Bank’s revaluation reserves or P&L and ultimately its capital position

• Preparation of any reports that may be required and involvement in relevant ad hoc projects

Skills / Qualifications / Experience

• At least 7-10 years’ experience in a related field (risk management, treasury, finance etc.)

• Managerial experience and proven leadership skills will be considered an advantage

• Masters degree in Finance, Mathematics, Risk Management or a relevant field

• Knowledge of SAS/ R/ Matlab or other Programming language will be considered as an advantage

• Good knowledge of the Risk Management Framework and regulatory requirements

• Excellent awareness and understanding of the banking environment, the economy and the overall local market

• Fluent in both Greek and English

• Resourceful with strong problem solving skills

• Sharp with attention to detail

• Strong analytical skills

• Good personality with a friendly and professional attitude

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work in a team

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Location

The position is for the Client’s offices in Nicosia.
