Position reports to: Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer
Responsible for: Technician B

 

PROFILE

The Technician A will repair and solve maintenance issues in relation to plumbing, electric, joinery and other types and will maintain/repair machinery, equipment and installations of the Hotel, in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering the highest possible standards of service to all guests (internal and external of the Hotel); the Technician A will also be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving department profitability in accordance with the Hotel policies, procedures and standards.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and train the correct standards, ensuring the team achieves the objectives and tasks essentials to the efficient and effective operations of the department,
  • Ensure the daily supervision of all subordinates
  • Willingly carry out various tasks given by their superiors before, during and after service hours,
  • Have a complete understanding of all Maintenance operations, geographical layouts and the exact whereabouts and functioning of all equipment of an operational nature,
  • Keep their workstation well organised and neat, report any issues to superiors,
  • Preserve excellent levels of customer service with both Hotel guests and employees; sense, identify and anticipate their needs; quickly respond to maximum satisfaction; seek/action/learn from feedback, and report upward and downward should a guest not be content with their experience,
  • Follow the daily maintenance schedule; prioritise, plan, assign, supervise and coordinate all staff and resources to ensure that all possible maintenance issues are efficiently resolved,
  • Manage other daily duties: follow up on all work performed by the other Technicians; keep records of all repairs, regular servicing and inspections; assist with all swimming pool and water features duties; prepare reports for departments
  • Monitor all Maintenance activities by actively participating in the operations and inspections, be vigilantly attentive to details, produce quality and standards,
  • Implement energy and resources conservation programs for the property to minimise costs,
  • Ensure awareness of the department’ costs, identify the trends and reasons, and liaise with the superiors, make suggestions and take appropriate action,
  • Monitor all Maintenance-related front and back areas to ensure upmost cleanliness, physical condition and functioning equipment,

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position; proven experience as technician,
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical systems,
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask,
  • Organisation and leadership skills,
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers and guests,
  • Proficiency in another language will be considered an advantage,
  • A certificate of certified electrician is desirable;
  • Comply with Cyprus legislation and be conversant with and act in accordance with any such matters relating to their department.
