Trade and Portfolio Operations Analyst
MUFG Investor Services FinTech is looking for Trade and Portfolio Operations Analysts to join the Operations team. We are looking for a professional ideally with experience in the financial sector to be responsible for the Middle & Back Office services.
You will be working as part of a team within a fast-paced, fun, challenging and creative environment in order to achieve team-oriented goals.
Job Description
- Support of the full suite trading operations of middle and back office, from post execution right through to settlement and clearing.
- Monitor of third-party matching systems and custodian portals to ensure accurate matching and settlement across wide spectrum of asset types within OTC and exchange traded markets.
- Analysis of clients’ portfolio performance using various metrics.
- Participate in the setup, maintenance and monitoring of straight through processing methods (Instrument setup, trade capture, pricing feed, report delivery).
- Handle, respond and solve enquiries regarding financial instruments, corporate actions, pricing, credit activities, other life cycle events and system related issues.
- Reconciliations: Cash, positions, P&L and MTM reconciliations with clients, custodians and Prime Brokers.
- NAV preparation: Recording of drawdowns and repayments, fair values, life cycle events, calculation of cash and PIK interest accruals and IRR.
- Daily communication with Tier 1 Banks. Handling of all communication with client and their third parties, acting as the main hub for query resolution.
- Dissemination of all trade, static, operations and corporate actions data to client’s various required third-party providers (PB, custodian, fund administrator and counterparties).
- Handling of cash and asset settlement. This will involve accurate processing of wires, collateral transfers and processing of delivery versus payment and free of payment instructions.
- Analytically explain the system produced reporting which will include reports such as positions, performance, mark to market, AUM concentration, counterparty risk etc.
- Participate on the onboarding of new clients, share opinion and offer potential ideas and solutions to improve existing software and processes.
- Rigorously follow internal control processes and suggest improvements in order to promote automation and reduce operational risk.
Education
- University Degree, preferably in Finance, Banking, Investments or similar.
- 1 - 2 years working experience within the financial industry is compulsory.
- Experience with clearing-settlement processes would be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of financial instruments is compulsory.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office.
- Attention to detail and accurate execution of tasks.
- Ability to work well within a team and within unpredictable environments.
- Effective time management.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Fluent in English.
