Career Opportunity

On behalf of a client, operating in the corporate services sector, we seek to recruit a Banking Manager to join their office in Nicosia.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the smooth operation of the banking services department.
  • Check the quality of paperwork to be sent to Banks and Payment Institutions.
  • Check and approve all payments of Clients.
  • Monitor collection targets and provide support to Corporate Administrators and Banking Officers.
  • Pro-actively plan the bank reviews of accounts in operation.
  • Ensure that no accounts are blocked by Banks and Payment Institutions.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a proactive manner.
  • Set-up and oversee the Transaction Monitoring process, ensuring compliance with relevant AML regulations.
  • Cooperate closely with other departments to assess AML risks, follow-up on new leads and offers submitted, as well as resolve client problems.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Commercial Banks and Payment Institutions (both local and international).
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with the external associates (incl. IBUs at all associate Banks and Payment Institutions).
  • Submit various regular and ad hoc reports to management, to support decision making.
  • Manage banking department team members, providing coaching, guidance and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Economics, Accounting & Finance or related field. 
  • Master’s degree in a related field will be considered an advantage.
  • Holder of a related professional qualification.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, either at a financial services/payment institution or administrative services provider.
  • Excellent understanding of the local, European and global banking industry, especially relating to international tax structuring and related payments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
  • Computer literacy, with very good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge and competent use of Quorum will be considered an advantage.
  • Ability to work with multi-cultural workforce and clientele.
  • Solid understanding of the corporate services industry in Cyprus and abroad.
  • Very good knowledge of AML regulations.
