CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - NICOSIA

Our Client a leader in the insurance industry, is looking to hire a skillful, experienced and high-calibre professional for the position of the Chief Executive Officer, based in Nicosia.

THE POSITION

The Chief Executive Officer will act in both strategic and operational capacity with responsibilities including leading and directing the insurance companies of the Group while delivering on a compelling vision that drives a customer-centric and performance-driven culture.More specifically, key responsibilities of the person to be appointed include, amongst other:

    • Safeguard the competitive position of the companies by identifying growth opportunities and operational efficiencies
    • Provide leadership and direction to the companies by overseeing the various activities and operations, to ensure effective management and performance
    • Cooperate closely with the Management of the companies for the formation of the business plan of each company in order to achieve the strategic objectives and ensure long-term growth
    • Monitor and oversee the progress of the companies with regards to the implementation of strategic decisions and provide guidance for corrective action where necessary
    • Strongly advocate new product development as well as strategic innovation in order to maintain market-leader status
    • Ensure that the promotional activities of the companies are aligned with the business strategy
    • Communicate the strategy and business plan and report results to the stakeholders of the Group
    • Review financial statements and other performance data to monitor goal achievement and to identify areas that might need improvement or development
    • Oversee budgets and expenses and provide recommendations for corrective action when necessary
    • Lead the supporting functions of the companies while ensuring effective and efficient operations
    • Oversee the HR function in order to ensure that an effective structure as well as the necessary competencies are in place
    • Actively endorse on-going technological advancement and digitalization for the purpose of improving business processes as well as customer experience
    • Promote a culture of high ethical standards so as to attract and retain key customers and employees
    • Enforce quality standards in order to achieve high quality and customer-centric service delivery
    • Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory requirements as well as the Group’s policies and governance directives
    • Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

    REQUIREMENTS

    • University undergraduate degree (BA/BSc) and postgraduate degree (MA/MSc/MBA) in Economics/Business Administration, Financial Management, Business or a related field, and/or a Professional Qualification (CFA, ACA, ACCA, CPA)
    • Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) or Fellowship (FCII) will be considered an advantage
    • At least ten (10) years of experience in the insurance industry, including over seven (7) years in management capacity; prior C-suite experience is desirable
    • Excellent knowledge of the insurance regulatory environment
    • Strong leadership and management skills and results-orientation
    • High level of business acumen and sound judgment
    • Very good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Impeccable integrity and business ethics
    • Computer literacy (ΜS Office)
    • Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written

    REMUNERATION

    An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate based on qualifications and experience.
